CRYOGEN GENERATORS
On-Demand Liquid Nitrogen for Laboratories, Healthcare, and Technical Industries
Liquid Nitrogen is essential across a wide range of industries, from medical and scientific research to metal treatment and dermatology—where ultra-low temperatures are critical. However, traditional handling of liquid Nitrogen in dewars presents challenges, including safety risks, logistical issues, and potential purity concerns.
The Smarter Solution: On-Site, On-Demand Liquid Nitrogen Production
The CRYOGEN series by F-DGSi empowers you to produce your own liquid Nitrogen whenever and wherever you need it. Simply connect to a power source, press start, and generate between 8 and 960 liters per day—automatically.

Cutting-Edge Technology for Reliable Liquid Nitrogen Generation
The CRYOGEN series operates with a highly efficient and proven process:
- Nitrogen Gas Production – Extracts Nitrogen from ambient air.
- Cooling & Liquefaction – Uses the Gifford-McMahon technique, where a cold-head mechanism compresses and expands Helium to achieve ultra-low temperatures.
- Liquid Nitrogen Dispensing – A built-in cryo-refrigerator cools the gaseous Nitrogen to –196°C (-321°F), converting it into liquid form and storing it in an integrated, certified dewar.
The system can be cooled via air or water, depending on your specific cryogenic requirements. Liquid Nitrogen is easily dispensed through an insulated cryogenic hose for seamless access.
Smart Control & Remote Monitoring
✔ Touchscreen Interface – Monitor Nitrogen levels, track performance, and manage operations in real-time.
✔ Automated Maintenance Alerts – Access service menus, check running hours, and schedule maintenance with ease.
✔ Remote Connectivity – Operate and monitor the system remotely via USB or internet access for ultimate convenience.
With the CRYOGEN series, you gain independence from external suppliers, ensuring a safer, cost-effective, and uninterrupted supply of high-purity liquid Nitrogen—right at your facility.

Liquid Nitrogen Generators
in diverse fields
Cryopreservation
Process that preserves organs, tissues, human and animal semen, fertilized or any other biological constructs by cooling the samples to the boiling point of liquid nitrogen.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy, known as cold therapy, is used in medical therapy to treat a variety of tissue lesions or skin abnormalities (cryosurgery). It is also in an effort to relieve muscle pain, sprains and swelling after soft tissue damage (especially among athletes).
Gastronomy
Liquid nitrogen in the gastronomy is often used in modern cuisine for the production of frozen foams and ice cream. After freezing food, nitrogen boils away creating a thick nitrogen fog. Liquid nitrogen is also appreciated by chefs for molecular gastronomy and the preservation of food products.
NMR
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, analytical technique, is used to analyse the physical and chemical composition of materials. Liquid helium is required to cool down the superconducting magnet of NMR and liquid nitrogen is used to absorb heat from outside the magnet and reduce the helium boil off rate.
In-Vitro Fertilization
In-Vitro fertilization is an assisted reproduction technique. The use of liquid nitrogen allows for medical hibernation of embryos, sperm and oocytes (eggs). This biological sleep in liquid nitrogen can last for years.
GC-2D
Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography (GC-2D) is a technique for analyzing complex samples which involves the use of several columns used in series. The two columns are separated by a cryogenic modulator consisting of a hot air jet and a cold air jet (cooled with liquid nitrogen). The liquid nitrogen traps the eluting molecules of the first dimension and the hot air jet sends them to the second dimension column. If your application requires extremely volatile modulation, the liquid nitrogen cooled modulator is recommended.
Cells
The purpose of using liquid nitrogen is to preserve cells for the long term but also to apply a source of cold to tumor lesions (cryosurgery). Liquid nitrogen can freeze several types of cells: graft while waiting for transplant, hematopoietic stem cells (bone marrow) while awaiting reinjection, blood, lymphocytes and platelets.
Metal treatment
Metals like steel, iron, copper and aluminum are often heat treated to improve their physical properties. The metal is exposed to heat and then to cooling. This cryogenic hardening is characterized by the use of liquid nitrogen to freeze metal.
Dermatology
The use of liquid nitrogen in dermatology destroys certain skin lesions. Heat shock causes crystallization of the water contained in the cells. The freezing and heating phases constitute a freeze-thaw cycle. Many benign lesions can be treated with liquid nitrogen: acne, scars, warts, skin growths, skin cancer.
